According to CCTV news, on the afternoon of August 9, a container ship docked at the container terminal in Ningbo Port, Zhejiang province, an accident occurred. The container on board was initially judged to have exploded, and no casualties were reported.
It was found that a transit hazardous goods container (Class 5 hazardous goods) was on fire. The molecular composition of the five classes of dangerous goods contains peroxy organics, itself is flammable, easily decomposed, is extremely sensitive to heat, vibration and friction, and all of these dangerous goods have the danger of causing combustion, therefore, special care should be taken during storage, transportation and use to prevent accidents.
